Team Notes
- Early in the second quarter, redshirt freshman running back Willie Culpepper had a career-long run of 39 yards, which was Miami's longest run of the season. The previous long run was a 24-yard dash by redshirt junior quarterback Zac Dysert on Oct. 8 vs. Army. The previous long by a running back was a 20-yard rush by redshirt sophomore Erik Finklea against Army.

- Miami and Western Michigan were both scoreless after the first quarter, the second time Miami has been in a game where neither team scored after 15 minutes this year - the other being Oct. 1 vs. Cincinnati. The RedHawks were shut out in the opening quarter for the sixth time this season.

- Senior wide receiver Chris Givens finished with 13 catches while sophomore wideout Nick Harwell had 14 catches, marking just the second time in school history that two players had double-digit receptions in the same game. The other time was Oct. 3, 2009 vs. Cincinnati when running back Andre Bratton had 11 catches and wide receiver Armand Robinson had 10 grabs. Wednesday's game marks the first time that two wide receivers had double-digit catches in the same game for Miami.

- Both Givens and Harwell had over 100 receiving yards as well, marking the first time two RedHawks had over 100 yards receiving in a game since Oct. 16, 2010 at Central Michigan when Armand Robinson had 102 yards and Andy Cruse hauled in 179 receiving yards. Givens finished with a game-high 141 yards while Harwell had 138 yards.

Individual Notes
- Redshirt junior quarterback Zac Dysert started the game 8-for-8 for 53 yards on the opening drive, which chewed up 7:50 of the opening quarter. His first pass on the next drive was incomplete however. On Oct. 29 against Buffalo, Dysert started 11-for-11 for 221 yards and three touchdowns before his first incompletion. He finished the game Wednesday 42-54 with the 42 completions a school record, topping Ben Roethlisberger's 41 completions against Northern Illinois in 2002. The 54 attempts rank fourth in school history and were a career high for Dysert.

- Dysert threw three touchdowns Wednesday, giving him 22 for the season, which ties for sixth on Miami's single-season chart with Ben Roethlisberger in 2002, passing Terry Morris' 19 set in 1986. He also now has 47 career touchdown tosses, which moves him into sole possession of fourth in Miami history, passing Sam Ricketts (1994-97), while he is two shy of Mike Bath (1997-2000) for third all-time. He also finished with 413 yards passing, which ranks sixth in school history and is Dysert's second-highest total behind 426 passing yards in 2009 at Temple. He now has 8,158 passing yards for his career as he is just the 15th quarterback in Mid-American Conference history to top the 8,000 career passing yards mark. For the season, Dysert now has 3,141 passing yards, which moves him into fifth on Miami's single-season list ahead of Roethlisberger's 3,105 yards in 2001.

- Senior wide receiver Chris Givens hauled in a career-high 13 receptions for a career-high 141 yards Wednesday in his final home game. His previous career high was 112 yards against Minnesota as a freshman on Sept. 8, 2007 while his previous best for receptions was nine. The 13 catches tie for fifth in school history with Andy Schillinger (1987 vs. Toledo).

- Sophomore wide receiver Nick Harwell hauled in a career-high three touchdowns Wednesday, marking his third multi-touchdown game of the season and fourth of his career. He also had two scores Oct. 8 vs. Army and Nov. 9 at Temple. He finished with 138 receiving yards on 14 catches, which moves him into second place on Miami's single-season receiving yards list with 1,262, passing Ryne Robinson's 1,178 yards in 2006. Martin Nance holds the record with 1,498. Harwell also now has 83 receptions on the year, moving him past Robinson and Nance for fourth on the single-season receptions list. With his 138 receiving yards, Harwell recorded his eighth 100-yard receiving game of the year, which is a school record, topping Martin Nance's mark of seven 100-yard receiving games in both 2003 and 2005. Harwell now has 10 for his career, needing two more to tie Robinson for second all-time at Miami. The 14 catches ties for second in school history behind Harwell's 15 grabs last week at Temple. He now has 147 career receptions, which moves him into sixth in school history ahead of Jamal Rogers' 134 from 2007-10.

- Junior safety Pat Hinkel made his first interception of the season in the third quarter and returned it for seven yards. It was the fourth pick of his career after recording three last year.

- Redshirt freshman running back Willie Culpepper had two carries for a career-high 40 yards. He entered the game with three carries for nine yards in his career.
