Miami Game Notes
Oct. 29, 2011 - Yager Stadium - Oxford, Ohio

Series/General Notes
- With the win Saturday, Miami improves to 12-2 all-time against Buffalo, including 7-1 in Oxford.

- Saturday's game was Miami's 95th Homecoming Game on its 98th Homecoming Weekend. The RedHawks improved to 60-31-4 all-time in Homecoming games, winning its first Homecoming game since 2007.

Team Notes
- Miami scored a touchdown just 38 seconds into the game Saturday, which was the fastest the RedHawks have scored this year. The 38-second touchdown drive was also Miami's fastest scoring drive of the season.

- Redshirt junior quarterback Zac Dysert completed a 71-yard touchdown pass to freshman wide receiver Dawan Scott early in the first quarter, which tied Miami's longest play from scrimmage this year. Dysert also had a 71-yard completion to sophomore wide receiver Nick Harwell at Toledo last Saturday.

- Miami totaled 41 points Saturday, its most since scoring 47 on Oct. 13, 2007 against Bowling Green. The RedHawks scored 21 points in the first quarter, the most the RedHawks have scored in a single quarter this season. Miami also scored 28 points in the first half Saturday, which was a season high for any half this season and the most in a half since Miami scored 28 in the second half against Charleston Southern on Sept. 13, 2008.

Individual Notes
- Freshman wide receiver Dawan Scott hauled in a career-long 71-yard reception from redshirt junior quarterback Zac Dysert early in the first quarter for a touchdown. His previous long was a 38-yard completion at Toledo last week. It was also his second career touchdown, also scoring at Minnesota Sept. 17. Scott finished with a career-best 141 receiving yards on just three catches after hauling in 140 yards last Saturday at Toledo. Scott becomes the fastest Miami player ever to record two 100-yard receiving games, doing so in his eighth career game. The previous record was Tremayne Banks and Nick Harwell, who each notched their second 100-yard receiving game in the 10th game of their freshman year in 1995 and 2010, respectively.

- Redshirt junior quarterback Zac Dysert threw for 313 yards Saturday, which gives him 7,166 passing yards for his career. He now ranks second in school history for career passing yards, jumping ahead of Josh Betts (2002-05), who had 7,029 yards. Dysert only trails Ben Roethlisberger (2001-03) in career passing yards as Roethlisberger had 10,829 in his career. Dysert also becomes the 21st quarterback in Mid-American Conference history to top the 7,000 yard mark for career passing yards and ranks 20th in league history, trailing Kent State's Joshua Cribbs (2001-04) for 19th place as he has 7,169 yards.

- Dysert started the game 11-for-11 with 221 yards and three touchdowns before his first incompletion with 7:39 left in the second quarter. He finished 20-of-25 while tying a school record with five touchdown passes, something that has happened three other times (two by Roethlisberger and one by Sam Ricketts in 1995). The five TD tosses also ties for 12th in MAC history. Dysert tied a season high with 39 rushing yards as well, matching that against Army on Oct. 8.

- Redshirt sophomore fullback Justin Semmes scored his third touchdown of the season in the second quarter Saturday. He has the three receiving touchdowns on just seven catches this year, including two Saturday.

- Senior wide receiver Chris Givens finished with 31 yards on four catches Saturday, moving him into seventh place on Miami's career receiving yards list with 1,747 and seventh place on the career receptions list with 125. He needs three more catches to move into a tie for sixth with Trevor Gaylor (1996-99) and 31 more yards to tie for sixth with Jay Hall (1995-98).

- Senior running back Tyrone Jones scored his first-career touchdown Saturday on a 1-yard plunge midway through the third quarter. He finished with a career-high 58 yards on a career-high 16 carries.

- Redshirt junior defensive lineman Jason Semmes forced his first career fumble Saturday in the third quarter. Senior safety Anthony Kokal recovered it, his second fumble recovery of the season. Later in the quarter Kokal made his first interception of the year and third of his career. He also had a team-high eight tackles.

- Sophomore cornerback Dayonne Nunley picked off his ninth career interception Saturday and third of the season. He is one shy of cracking Miami's all-time top 10 interceptions list.
