FOOTBALL
Last Week: Zac Dysert and Chris Givens combined on a 16-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter, propelling Miami (2-4; 1-1 MAC) to a 9-3 victory at Kent State on Saturday. The RedHawk defense added a safety in the fourth quarter then held the Golden Flashes out of the endzone on a potential game-winning drive in the final minute. (RECAP) (PHOTO GALLERY) It was announced last week that Miami's nationally-televised football game at Temple on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. has been moved to ESPN from ESPN2. (RELEASE) This Week: The RedHawks continue a two-game road stretch at Toledo at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Last Week: Rounding out a four-game road stretch, Miami (8-8-0; 3-6-0 MAC) picked up a pair of key MAC wins last weekend. Junior Jess Kodiak tied the game in the closing seconds of regulation and sophomore Katy Dolesh scored the game-winner in the second overtime for a 2-1 RedHawk win over East Division-leading Ohio Friday afternoon. (RECAP) the RedHawks followed by scoring three goals in an 11-minute stretch to start the second half en route to a 3-0 win at Akron Sunday afternoon. (RECAP) This Week: Miami rounds out its regular season hosting three MAC games. This weekend, Miami entertains Northern Illinois at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, before hosting Western Michigan at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23. MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: In a driving rain storm, Miami sloshed its way to a ninth-place finish Friday morning at the Penn State National Meet on the muddy Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses. The 5.2-mile meet served as a final tune-up before the Mid-American Conference Championships. Sophomore Dave Wing was Miami's top finisher for the first time in his career, clocking 27:26 to place 31st. (RECAP) Miami University's men's cross country team picked up two awards for the 2010 season at the 2011 All-Ohio Championships, held on Sept. 30. Head coach Warren Mandrell and his coaching staff was named 2010 Ohio Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year while redshirt sophomore Matt Marol was named 2010 Ohio Cross Country Freshman of the Year. (RELEASE) This Week: Miami has a week off before competing in the MAC Championships Saturday, Oct. 29 in Muncie, Ind.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: In a final tune-up before the Mid-American Conference Championships, Miami ran to a sixth-place finish Friday morning at the 6K Penn State National Meet at the muddy PSU Blue and White Golf Courses in pouring rain. Senior Kelley Miller was Miami's top finisher for the second time this year, clocking 22:16 to finish in 26th place, after taking 32nd at last year's meet. (RECAP) This Week: Miami now has a week off before looking to win its third MAC title in four years when the RedHawks run at the MAC Championships Saturday, Oct. 29 in Muncie, Ind.

ICE HOCKEY
Last Week: Junior Reilly Smith had a hand in all four RedHawk (2-2-0) goals Friday night, including his second career hat trick, as he led the No. 4/5 Miami hockey team to a 4-3 victory over Colgate. (RECAP) Miami went to overtime but came up on the short end as Colgate scored the game-winner with 2:03 remaining in the extra session to earn a 3-2 victory and gain a series split with the RedHawks Saturday night. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks remain on the road this weekend when they open CCHA play at Ferris State Oct. 21-22. Puck drop both nights is set for 7:05 p.m.
FIELD HOCKEY
Last Week: Miami (5-11; 3-4 MAC) scored two early goals in its lone game of the week but was unable to hang on as Central Michigan captured a 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks host their final three home matches of the season this week. On Tuesday, Oct. 18 Miami steps out of conference to welcome No. 17 Ohio State to Oxford for a 3 p.m. game. On Saturday, Oct. 22, the RedHawks take on MAC-leading Ohio at 1 p.m. Finally, on Sunday, Oct. 23, Miami hosts Kent State at 1 p.m. for senior day. VOLLEYBALL
Last Week: The RedHawks ran into a tough Eastern Michigan attack on Friday, as they fell 0-3 (21-25, 18-25, 23-25) at Millett Hall. (RECAP) On Saturday, Central Michigan handed Miami a 1-3 (13-25, 25-21, 20-25, 12-25) loss. (RECAP) Madison Hardy had 21 digs in each match for the RedHawks (12-10; 3-5 MAC). This Week: Miami hits the road for two MAC matches this weekend. The RedHawks travel to MAC West Division leader Ball State on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest. They will complete the week with a trip to Toledo on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match.
GOLF
Last Week: Miami finished in a tie for 13th place after shooting a final round one-over par 289 last Tuesday at the Firestone Invitational. The RedHawks finished the event at 19-over par. Brett Tomfohrde followed up his career-low round of 70 set Monday with an even par round of 72 Tuesday. He finished the tournament at one-under par and in a tie for 15th place. (RECAP) This Week: Miami heads to Beallsville, Md. for the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Oct. 17-18.
MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
Last Week: Miami was idle last week. This Week: The RedHawks return to action, hosting Xavier on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m.
Women's swimming and diving opens its 2011-12 campaign this weekend, hosting Purdue on Friday, Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. and then entertaining Xavier at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.
The Second Annual BBQ & Basketball event jump starts the 2011-12 Miami University men's basketball season in Millett Hall on center court. On Wednesday, Oct. 26, spend a special evening with the Miami men's basketball team. Cost is $15 per person and includes dinner. Students may use their meal plan for the dinner by providing their Banner ID number with their reservation. Congratulations to former Miami football standout Milt Stegall, who has been elected for induction into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum Class of 2012. Stegall, a six-time CFL all-star, is the CFL's all-time touchdown leader. (RELEASE)
