Junior Team in Seventh Place After Short Program

SALZBURG, Austria--After skating its short program at the Mozart Cup in Salzburg, Austria, the Miami University junior team sits in seventh place among the 13-team field. One of two teams representing the United States at the international event, the RedHawks are less than a point out of sixth place and approximately three and a half points out of fifth place entering Sunday's free skate competition.
Skating its short program to Pat Benetar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and "Heartbreaker," the RedHawks posted a score of 39.78. Nexxice (Canada) leads the junior team field with a score of 58.07 for its short program. Musketeers (Finland) follow with a score of 54.89. Stella Polaris (Finland) is in third with a score of 47.02, while Lexettes (USA) are fourth with a score of 45.68, Team Convivium (Sweden) is fifth with a score of 43.34 and Team Spirit (Sweden) is sixth with a score of 40.56.
Trailing the RedHawks are Team Estreija (Finland) in eighth place with a score of 38.48, Hot Shivers (Italy) in ninth place with a score of 37.59, Frostwork (Hungary) in 10th place with a score of 26.06, Zagreb Snowflakes (Croatia) in 11th place with a score of 25.94, Starlets (Czech Republic) in 12th place with a score of 21.28) and Ice Stars (Hungary) in 13th place with a score of 19.02.
