The class of 2011 (Camper, Cannone, LoVerde, Miele, and Vaive) moved into a tie for third place on the all-time Miami wins by a class list with the class of 2008 with 98 wins in their four years.
Miami is now 4-0 against BG on the season; they have won 11 straight meetings and 18 of 19.
The RedHawks earned their first CCHA series sweep since November 19-20, 2010, also against BG. It was the first home-series sweep since October 22-23, 2010 against Northern Michigan and the third series sweep overall for Miami this season.
Cody Reichard made 30 saves, a season-high for Miami. It was Reichard's fourth straight game allowing only one goal.
His win tonight makes Reichard 4-0-0 against BG in his career.
Reilly Smith recorded 3 points, matching his career-high. He surpassed 50 career points in the game (he now has 51).
Smith now leads the CCHA in goals scored in conference games this season with 12.
Trent Vogelhuber tied his career-high in points (2), which he has reached on two other occasions. It was Vogelhuber's first multi-point game since Oct. 23, 2010 against Northern Michigan and his first game-winning goal of the season.
Miami improved to 4-2 when the opposing team scores first.
Andy Miele and Carter Camper are now tied for the national lead in points with 39 after Miele earned two assists and Camper earned one. It is Miele's 8th multi-assist game on the season.
Camper's assist gives him 102 for his career, putting him in a tie for fifth place on Miami's career list.
The RedHawks killed all four Falcon penalties on Saturday and all 13 this series. The 13 penalty kills marks a season high for Miami for kills in a series.
