OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami Athletic Media Relations Office was honored with two national awards Tuesday as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the results of another round of its annual publications contests. Miami was cited in the Single Sport Program and Special Event Program categories.
The office took second place for the Men's Hockey game program, falling just short of the publication for North Dakota State Volleyball. Assistant Director of Media Relations Jim Stephan served as editor while Associate Director Angie Renninger created the overall design concept. Miami also placed third in the Special Event Program contest, with Stephan, Renninger and Mike Roth collaborating on a GameDay issue for a hockey, men's basketball and women's basketball tripleheader in February.
Miami's Media Relations Office, under the direction of Assistant Athletic Director Mike Pearson, annually produces media guides for all 19 RedHawk sports, as well as game program for every home event.
"The recognition we've received from CoSIDA is a nice mention," said Pearson. "We strive for excellence in everything we do and these honors certainly validate the effort put forth by our staff."
The CoSIDA Awards will be distrubuted at the organization's annual convention, July 3-7 in San Francisco, Calif.
