OXFORD, Ohio - "Miami Memories," the special series of 200 videos that counted down the days to the beginning of Miami University's Bicentennial Celebration, has won the Award of Distinction from The Communicator Awards. Steve Baker, Assistant Athletics Director and Director for Broadcasting, was the producer of the series that won the award in the Communicator Awards Interactive division, which honors outstanding work in the field of video production and communication.
Upon learning of the award, Baker said "'Miami Memories' was a labor of love from the start and took a lot of work from a lot of people in order to be successful. Former Sports Information Director Dave Young compiled all of the initial data. The Miami Media Relations staff, interns and other athletic department staff all helped to write scripts, find old photos and video. It was a real team effort and this award is an acknowledgment of the quality of work that everyone put in to make it a memorable series."
