Miami vs. Temple

Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Jordain Brown made his first-career start Thursday at left tackle.

Redshirt sophomore linebacker Jerrell Wedge made his first-career fumble recovery in the second quarter, which led to a Miami field goal. Wedge also had a tackle for loss, giving him a MAC-best 15.5 TFLs on the year.

Redshirt freshman punter Jim Broadway booted a career-long 52-yard punt in the second quarter that went for a touchback. Two of his five punts landed inside the 20-yard line Thursday, meaning five of his nine punts this year have landed inside the opponents' 20-yard line.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Zac Dysert threw for a career-high 426 yards (31-for-51), the second-most by a MAC quarterback this season (trailing BGSU's Tyler Sheehan's 505-yard performance vs. Kent State Oct. 10) and the fourth-most in Miami history (all behind Ben Roethlisberger. He also tied a career high with three touchdown tosses. With his 12 rushing yards, he totaled 438 yards of offense, his second-best output of the season after totaling 444 yards Sep. 26 at Kent State. The 426 yards were also the most yards thrown by a Miami QB against Temple all-time. He now has four games of 300 passing yards or more, tying Mike Bath for third-most all-time. Josh Betts had eight career 300-yard games while Roethlisberger at 14.

Freshman tight end Steve Marck caught his first-career touchdown pass in fourth quarter, a 24-yard reception, which is also a career-long reception for Marck. It was his only catch of the day.

Redshirt junior wideout Armand Robinson tied a career high with two touchdowns, which he also had two weeks ago (Oct. 24) vs. Northern Illinois. He also tied a career high with 10 catches for a game-high 118 yards, giving him four 100-yard receiving games this season (all within the last seven games). Robinson is the first RedHawk receiver to record four 100-yard receiving games in the same season since Ryne Robinson (no relation) did so in 2006 and is just the fifth different RedHawk to ever do so.

Freshman wide receiver Lucas Swift nabbed a career-long 45-yard catch in the fourth quarter for his only grab of the day, but it still gave him a career high for receiving yards.

Senior wide receiver Brayden Coombs nabbed a career-high six catches for a career-best 79 yards.

Redshirt freshman running back Danny Green caught a career-best five catches for a career-high 40 yards, more than doubling his season total for both receptions and yards.

Redshirt sophomore safety Anthony Kokal had a game-high 12 tackles vs. Temple, marking his fifth game this season with double-digit tackles, while his nine solo tackles are a career high. He was just one tackle shy of his career high of 13, which he set Oct. 3 vs. Cincinnati.

Miami scored a season-high 32 points, its most points since putting up 37 against Charleston Southern Sept. 18 of last year. It was Miami's most points against an FBS opponent (Division I-A) since Oct. 13, 2007 when the RedHawks hung 47 points on Bowling Green.

Miami earned 23 first downs in the game, three more than Temple, giving Miami more first downs than its opponent for the seventh time this year, with the RedHawks earning at least 20 first downs in each of those seven contests.

The RedHawks' 13-play, 84-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter that put Miami on top and was capped by junior tailback Thomas Merriweather was Miami's longest drive yardage-wise this season. It was Miami's seventh scoring drive of 80 yards or more in 2009.

Miami was a perfect 3-for-3 on fourth down against the Owls, the first time in four tries this year Miami has picked up each first down when going for it on fourth down at least three times.

Miami scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to erase an 18-point deficit, marking Miami's most points in a single quarter this season.

Temple now leads the all-time series 3-1, having won each of the last three meetings.
