Miami vs. Ohio
Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Brandon Brooks started his 19th straight game Saturday vs. Ohio, the longest consecutive starting streak currently by a RedHawk. He has started every game in his Miami career.
Miami scored a touchdown on its opening possession for the first time this season. The score was Miami's first first-quarter touchdown of the year and first since Oct. 25, 2008 vs. Kent State.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Zac Dysert scored his first-career rushing touchdown in the first quarter on Miami's opening drive.
Redshirt sophomore linebacker Jerrell Wedge hauled in his first-career interception in the third quarter, as he picked off Ohio quarterback Theo Scott at the Miami 17-yard line. It was Miami's fifth interception this season.
Senior cornerback Jeff Thompson set a career high with 11 tackles Saturday, which was also a game high.
Sophomore defensive lineman Matt Kajmowicz finished with a career-best seven tackles.
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Andy Cruse caught a career-high five passes Saturday for 48 yards.
Miami controlled time of possession for the fourth-straight game and fifth time this year with a 31:21 to 28:39 time of possession advantage.
Ohio defeated Miami for the fourth-straight year, the first time the Bobcats have done so since winning five straight from 1960-64. The 21-point loss Saturday was Miami's worst to Ohio during the four-game stretch and worst in the series since a 21-0 loss to Ohio in 1960. Miami still controls the all-time series 51-33-2 but in Athens the series is now tied at 21-21.
With the loss, Miami's school-record losing streak now stands at 12 games.
The game was played on Ohio's Homecoming Weekend.
