Rachel Gilpin And Shoko Yoshitake Say Goodbye

The 2007-2008 Miami Dance Team would like to wish the best of luck to its senior members Rachael Gilpin and Shoko Yoshitake. We truly appreciate all they have done for the betterment and advancement of our program. Their talent, passion, and friendship will be greatly missed, but we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.Rachael Gilpin was a senior captain of the 2007-2008 Miami Dance Team and will graduate this spring with a major in Strategic Communication. During her time at Miami, she was a 4 year member of the dance team and served as social chair in her sophomore year. She was also a member of the RedHawk Council, Alpha Xi Delta, as well as PRSSA, the Public Relations Student Society of America. Her favorite thing about being a member of the Miami dance team, "is the many friendships I've made. As I leave this university, I leave with 11 + best friends and four years of unforgettable memories. I can't imagine being a student at Miami without having been a member of the dance team. I have gained so much from my experience on this team - time management and organizational skills, the ability to work well with a team and a sense of how to set and reach goals. I know that the time spent in the studio and with my teammates has taught me lessons I could have never learned in a classroom. I will sincerely miss being a part of this organization".

Shoko Yoshitake was a four year member of the Miami Dance Team and served as a senior captain for the 2007-2008 team. She is an Adolescent Education major with a focus on Social Studies and will be returning to Miami for a fifth year next year. After graduation, she hopes to teach in Japan. While at Miami she also served as a member of the RedHawk Council. Shoko feels "extremely proud to look back on these last four years and see how the girls' commitment and love for their teammates has helped them grow as individuals and as a team. Dance team has meant so much to me. I loved every moment and am so thankful for my time spent with these amazing girls".
