Sutherland Leads RedHawks at Pinehurst

PINEHURST, N.C. - Freshman Nathan Sutherland fired a 70 in the final round, the best by a RedHawk at the event, as Miami University's men's golf team moved up one spot to finish in 14th place at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
Sutherland finished at nine-over par 225 to tie for 23rd place to lead the RedHawks. Junior Ben Wood finished at 11-over par 227 to tie for 32nd place. Junior Mark Robinson got progressively better over the three-day, 54-hole event, shooting a 75 on the final day to finish in a tie for 69th place at 18-over par 234.
Junior Ben Bastel tied for 74th place at 19-over par 235, while freshman Michael Drobnick finished in 91st place at 28-over par 244.
Indiana University won the tournament, bettering its nearest opponent by 24 strokes. IU's Seth Brandon captured individual medalist honors finishing at even par 216.
Miami returns to action March 29-30 at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
