RedHawks Third at MAC Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Miami University women's track and field team finished third at the 2008 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Ypsilanti, Michigan, with Kristina Bolterstein and Margarita Pogorelov each capturing event crowns on day two.
The RedHawks' 88 points came in behind second place Western Michigan's 96 points and MAC Champion Akron's 106 points.
Pogorelov won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.50. She followed that with a second place finish in the 200-meter dash in 24.75.
Bolterstein won the high jump by clearing 5-11 ¼. Katelyn Kelly can in second in the event by making it over a 5-8 bar.
Laura Neufarth followed up her 5,000 meter championship on Friday with a second place finish in the 3,000 meter run at 9:45.89.
The Miami 4X400 relay team of Alexis Lape, Pogorelov, Andrea Tepe and Betsy Allen took second with a time of 3:49.27.
The RedHawk distance medley team of Amanda Mirochna, Tepe, Katie Lenahan and Jennie Stoll came in fourth place at 11:55.23. Mirochna finished eighth in the mile run with a time of 5:05.61.
Nicki Mitched finished the pentathlon in sixth place with 3539 points.
