Senior midfielder Elizabeth Gilroy
On what the win over Ohio means to the team:
"It means a lot. They stole it from us last year in the MAC Championship. Before the game, we just said, ` you know what, we need to prove something this year and take it back from them.' And, we did. It was a battle as always and we came out on top, so it felt good."
On what changed between the first and second half:
"At halftime, we just talked about our strategy, and how we need to pull around them or go vertically over them. We were giving them the ball a lot in the first half, dribbling right into them and then they were having counter-attacks. In the second half, we changed that and started pulling around them."
On if that was the best the RedHawks have played this season:
"I think so. We all felt so good. It is the rivalry and in MAC play so it is really important. "
On what the win means for the rest of MAC play:
"It feels great. Us and Kent and OU are vying for the top so it is good, because now we are in a three-way tie."
Sophomore midfielder Christine Brightwell
On what the win over Ohio means to the team:
"It really builds momentum. OU has always been a top-ranked team in the MAC. Knowing, not only that we won but we dominated play, it builds a lot of confidence going into more MAC play."
On how the game against Ohio was played:
"It was a really physical game. Everyone was getting out of hand for a little bit. Once we figured out that we just need to play our game, we were fine."

"We have now seen that our play can be at a higher level. We just need to understand that we can play that way all of the time."
On what she did to score her goal:
"I was just in the right place at the right time. It was not much more than that. The stroke spot in the middle is a pretty important place to be. Maggie (Marcum) had a great pass and a tip off the defense and it is just all about timing and being in the right spot."
Miami head coach Jill Reeve
On if this is the best game the RedHawks have played this season:
"I think so. They played together. They rose to the challenge. I was really proud of the way that they played."
On how, as a coach, she tried to balance out the players' emotions of playing in a rivalry game:
"I told our team that before the game, `If it helps you to make it personal, then make it personal. Whatever it takes to get you into that mode where we are fighting every minute.' That is where we needed to be."
On what happened between the first and second half:
"I think they adjusted into the game. In the second half they began playing right in behind one and other and could read what was going to happen and picking off play and picking up the ball off a tackle. I think that they got really good at this particular game."
On what the win means for the team:
"It evens out the playing field. It is good for us that it is wide open. But, we still need to put our signature on the rest of the MAC season."
On if the win means anything for the program:

On the play of senior back Danielle Gaynor:
"Danielle Gaynor had just a huge weekend. She is a brick wall. She was there on every breakaway play. She is just a really steady force with her communication and organization. We tried a little bit of a different formation today and I think that she organized it really well. She was just an all-star this weekend."
