RedHawks Finish Second at EIU Mega Meet

CHARLESTON, Ill. - The Miami University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Eastern Illinois Mega Meet on Saturday in Charleston, Illinois, finishing second out of five Division I teams.
The RedHawks' 214 team points were narrowly eclipsed by Indiana State's 220, while Eastern Illinois (107), Northern Illinois (86), Saint Louis (44), and Chicago State (21) rounded out the team scoring.
Kristina Bolterstein won her second-straight high jump competition with a mark of 5-10, once again clearing the NCAA provision mark.
Jennie Stoll and Amanda Mirochna finshed one-two in the 1000-meters with times of 3:02.88 and 3:03.11, respectively. The two flip-flopped in the mile run, with Mirochna winning in 5:03.52 and Stoll coming in second at 5:05.77.
Kelsey McHugh won the 5000 meters in 18:31.89. Brittany Bernardoni finished second in the pole vault at 11-11 ¾. Jessica DeWitt was third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:45.74.
Katie Lenahan was second in the 800-meters with a time of 2:19.13, while Margarita Pogorelov finished second in the 60-meter dash at 7.56.
Betsy Allen was third in the 400-meters with a time of 59.21.
The RedHawk 4X800 meter relay team came in second with a time of 9:40.33.
Miami will next compete when the RedHawks travel to Bowling Green for the BGSU Open on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26.
