The Miami University field hockey team slipped to 1-3 on the season after a 2-3 loss at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia on Saturday afternoon.
Taylor Florence and Danielle Gaynor each had goals for the RedHawks. Florence scored at the 17:29 mark when she deflected in a long corner with an assist from Jessica Reading. Gaynor's score came less than a minute later when she got a hard shot off a penalty corner with an assist from Alyssa Nye.
Miami took a 2-1 lead with Gaynor's goal, but were unable to hold back the Tribe as the hosts scored two second-half goals to take the contest and improve to 3-2 on the season.
Megan Stengal made five saves in goal for the RedHawks who travel to Richmond University tomorrow for an 11 a.m. match-up with the Spiders, who are 1-4 on the year.
