OXFORD, Ohio--Miami University's baseball program and head coach Dan Simonds announced the dates for their summer camp and prospect clinics.
The Miami RedHawk Baseball Camp, which is offered to boys ages 7-14, will be held June 25-28 at Corwin Nixon Park in Mason, Ohio, and runs from 9 a.m. to noon. Optional Personalized Instruction sessions also are offered from 8-9 a.m. on Thursday, June 28.
Campers receive daily instruction from a highly qualified staff in an interactive camp setting. Personalized Instruction sessions will have focus on a specific area of play (pitching, catching, infield, outfield or hitting) with a coach who has expertise in that area. Personalized Instruction groups will consist of three to four campers per coach.
Applications for the Miami RedHawk Baseball Camp are limited to the first 200 applicants.
The Miami RedHawk Summer Prospect Clinics are scheduled for June 20, Aug. 25 and Sept. 22 at McKie Field at Hayden Park in Oxford, Ohio, the home of the RedHawks, while the Winter Prospect Clinics are slated for Dec. 15 and Dec. 16 on Miami University's campus. The prospect camps are limited to student-athletes who will be graduating from high school in either 2008 or 2009, however, 2007 graduates will be able to attend the June 20 clinic.
Players will receive quality instruction from Miami's coaching staff and players and will have an opportunity to display their abilities in a professional-style workout and game setting. In addition, players will be provided with information regarding academics and strength and conditioning.
Registration is limited to 64 prospects (16 per team) per camp and is contingent on the position the prospect plays. Once slots are filled for a position, no more applications will be accepted for that position.
