OXFORD, Ohio - Miami Head Coach Shane Montgomery: "Obviously, it was a huge win for us today. We knew we were facing a very, very good football team today. I think that they proved that they are a good football team. We made some big plays on offense. We still missed a couple of field goals, but, overall, offensively, this is the best game we have played since Bowling Green."
"We ran the ball extremely effectively and Daniel (Raudabaugh) was very sharp in the passing game."
"I think it is safe to say; after that first run of 92 yards, we stopped the run all day. We did have six sacks. We stopped the running game. We got them into a lot of second and long and third and long. We were able to put some pressure on (Drew) Willy and, even though he completed a lot of balls, they just did not get many big plays. To have 33 completions and only 217 yards, that means we did not give up any big plays in the passing game."
Now, we have a couple of extra days before the Akron game, and we really need it to get some guys healthy so that we can be close to full strength. (On the defense) "To have two key fumbles and only give up six points was huge. You have got to give the defense credit. They were able to move the ball at times, but we really tightened up in the red zone."
Miami Defensive Lineman Joe Coniglio: "We want the pressure on us at the end of the game to make the play and get the win. We thrive off of that. We try to be resilient in situations like that. We are not a big defensive unit. What we can do is run. You can make plays when you play hard. And, that is the thing that this defense has done all year."
Miami Running Back Cory Jones: "Austin (Sykes) went down today and someone had to step up again. That is how it has been the whole year. We came out confident today. We wanted to get back to where we control our own destiny."
Miami Quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh: "This is an offensive system that is built to be efficient. There is always an outlet and someone is always open no matter what the coverage is. Coach (Montgomery) has really drilled into my head to just take what the coverage gives me. Do not try to force stuff in there because that is how you create turnovers. We do not have to make the perfect throw every time. When someone is there, just give them the ball and let them make a play with it."
Buffalo Head Coach Turner Gill: "I am proud of our football team. We definitely competed right until the last play. We did a good job of staying in the game. I appreciate all of our players' efforts. Bottom line is; Miami made more plays than we made. I tip my hat to Coach Montgomery and his staff."
"Our guys played with a lot of heart. We did not execute at the end and they did."
Buffalo Quarterback Drew Willy: "It hurts right now. But we have to have composure about ourselves. It is going to hurt tonight. But, we have to come back and get ready for Bowling Green."
