TEAM NOTES
- In the 45th meeting between Miami and Western Michigan, the RedHawks were unable to protect a second-half lead for the fourth time in five MAC losses, falling 27-24. WMU booted the game-winning field goal with 1:16 remaining.
- The loss was Miami's third straight and dropped the RedHawks to 1-9 overall and 1-5 in the MAC. It ended a program two-game winning streak versus WMU.
- Miami's five MAC losses have come by a combined 20 points, with four coming by three points or less The loss was Miami's second straight in which its opponent scored the go-ahead points with less than two minutes left.
- Miami's offense created a season-high three plays of 45 yards or longer, two of which went for touchdowns.
- The RedHawk defense recorded two interceptions and has 13 on the season.
- Miami, which entered the game ranked last nationally in sacks allowed, did not allow a sack against the nation's second-ranked pass rush until the final series of the game.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Junior quarterback Mike Kokal completed 16-of-26 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns.
- Senior wide receiver Ryne Robinson finished with 10 receptions for a career-high 180 yards, including a game-tying 56-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. It was his third career 10-reception game.
- Robinson, who hauled in a reception for the 40th straight game moved into the MAC's all-time top five in both career receptions and receiving yards, totaling 241 catches for 3,520 yards for his career. His 1,001 yards on the season make him the first receiver in Miami history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving years.
- Sophomore Josh Satterthwait started at right guard for the RedHawks, becoming the 18th different Miami player to make his first career start this season.
- Sophomore Robbie Wilson intercepted a pass that was deflected by junior Craig Mester in the first quarter. It was his first interception of the season.
- Dustin Woods hauled in a game-tying 47-yard touchdown pass from Kokal late in the first quarter. It was Woods' third TD catch of 40 yards or longer this season.
- Redshirt freshman Andre Bratton started for the second straight game, busting off a Miami season-long 50-yard rush on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter and finishing with 12 rushes for 72 yards.
- Junior Austin Sykes recorded his third career rushing touchdown in the second quarter on a one-yard plunge.
- True freshman Trevor Cook connected on a 38-yard field goal early in the third quarter, giving Miami its first lead of the day, and is 8-of-10 on the year.
- Sophomore Joey Hudson picked off a pass in Bronco territory early in the fourth quarter to give him five on the season, which ties for first nationally among linebackers. He also had a career-high 14 tackles on the night.
- Senior safety Joey Card matched a career-high with 14 tackles on the night.
