BERKELEY, Calif. - Three days after knocking off Stanford, 2-1, in overtime, the Miami University field hockey team was downed, 5-0, by the University of California on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Bears used a trio of first half goals to put the RedHawks in a hole, and added two more in the second half to complete the win.
Miami completed its West coast swing with a 1-2 record, with the other loss coming at the hands of Pacific on Monday. The RedHawks return to action on Sept. 9, when they travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., to battle the Michigan Wolverines, and then tangle with Old Dominion on Sept. 11.
