White Team Evens Series with 7-3 Triumph

OXFORD, Ohio - Paced by three hits from junior outfielder Brandon Hillier (Hinsdale, Ill.), the White team evened the 92nd annual Red and White series at one game apiece on Friday night at McKie Field. Sophomore Chris Niro (Walton Hills, Ohio) earned the victory for the White squad, going 4.0 innings and allowing two runs on just one hit while striking out two.
Freshman Robert Shannon (East Liverpool, Ohio) picked up the save by tossing 3.0 innings and allowing just two hits. Sophomore Connor Graham (Bowling Green, Ohio) was tagged with the loss after giving up four runs on five hits.
Junior Jeff Carroll (Columbus, Ohio) went 2-for-3 with a triple for the White squad, while freshman Dante DiSabato (New Albany, Ohio) was 2-for-3 in a losing effort for the Red team.
The rubber match of the series is slated for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with junior Keith Weiser (Hamilton, Ohio) toeing the rubber the Red team versus freshman Ryan Goodman (St. John, Ind.) and the White team.
All games of the series are at McKie Field at Hayden Park. Admission is free.
