OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Josh Betts passed for 288 yards and a score, and Brandon Murphy and Luke Clemens rushed for two touchdowns apiece as Miami University defeated Central Florida 43-7 Saturday night.
Betts threw a 34-yard TD pass to Ryne Robinson and Murphy scored on runs of 51 and 4 yards in the fourth quarter, when the RedHawks (5-3, 4-1 Mid-American Conference) scored 23 points to break open a 20-7 game.
The Golden Knights (0-7, 0-4) were held to 88 yards rushing and 72 yards passing, but stayed close because of three Miami turnovers. The RedHawks lost a fumble and Betts, who completed 24 of 40 passes, threw two interceptions.
Clemens ran 19 times for 79 yards and Murphy had 75 yards rushing on nine carries. Miami ran for 206 yards on 38 carries and finished with 494 yards on offense.
Robinson caught seven passes for 82 yards and Michael Larkin had five catches for 85 yards for Miami.
Clemens scored on runs of 1 and 8 yards in the second quarter to help Miami take a 17-0 lead. UCF pulled to 20-7 on Steven Moffett's 31-yard run late in the third quarter.
