OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Ben Roethlisberger completed 18 of 24 passes for 234 yards and four touchdowns as Miami of Ohio defeated Buffalo 59-3 on Saturday.
Roethlisberger's 30-yard TD pass to Michael Larkin opened the 24-point first quarter for the RedHawks (5-1, 2-0 Mid-American Conference). It was Larkin's 29th consecutive game with a scoring catch.
Roethlisberger had second-quarter TD passes of 6 yards to Larkin, 11 yards to Martin Nance and 3 yards to Cal Murray as Miami built a 45-0 halftime lead. That broke a school record for first-half points, set with a 35-0 halftime lead over Kent State on Sept. 23, 2000.
The Bulls (0-7, 0-3) got a 24-yard field goal by Dallas Pelz early in the fourth quarter.
Ryne Robinson returned two consecutive punts for scores in the first quarter to tie Miami's record for punt return touchdowns, set by Eddie Tillitz against Eastern Michigan in 2000.
Robinson got 239 yards on six punt returns, breaking single-game MAC and school records. Tillitz held the previous Miami record with 162 yards.
