Miami Notes
* Matt Robillard's interception return for Miami's first score was the RedHawks' first since Rod Clark picked off a Western Michigan pass and returned it 15 yards earlier this season. Those are the RedHawks only defensive touchdowns this season.
* Ben Roethlisberger's 3-yard touchdown pass to Jason Branch in the first quarter broke the school record for most touchdown passes in a season, eclipsing Mike Bath's 1999 mark of 24. It also ties for the sixth-most touchdown passes in MAC history. He has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 11 of 12 games this season.
* Roethlisberger threw for 238 yards, the ninth time in 12 career starts he has broken the 200-yard plateau.
* Jared Parseghian's back-to-back field goals in the second quarter extended the RedHawks' streak to a season-high 3 straight. His 42-yarder with 5:57 left in the second quarter tied his career long.
* Roethlisberger's interception at the end of the first half was his first in 123 attempts.
* Roethlisberger is the first Miami quarterback to pass for more than 3,000 yards in a season. He has thrown for more than 200 yards in eight straight games.
* Kent State's 335 rushing yards mark the first time Miami has given up 300 or more yards on the ground in a game since 1999 vs. Ohio.
* Miami was held to -1 yards rushing, the first time since 1989 vs. Western Michigan the RedHawks had negative rushing yards in a game.
* Miami was held scoreless in the second half, the first time the RedHawks have been shut out in a half all season.
* The RedHawks end the year on a three-game losing streak, the first one they have experienced since 1996, and the first time since 1941 they have concluded a season on such a string.
