Volleyball Captures Five-Game Win Over Ohio

OXFORD, Ohio (Nov. 20) - After a slow start in the first game, Miami University's volleyball team picked up two straight games to take a 2-1 advantage against MAC foe Ohio University (9-21; 3-15 MAC).
The Bobcats took the fourth game, but Miami rallied to pull out the fifth game and the match to end its regular season at 16-12 and 11-7 in the Mid-American Conference.
Mindy Collins paced the Red and White in the 7-15, 16-14, 15-6, 4-15, 15-6 win with 20 kills and three blocks. Kelly McCullough tied a career-best 13 kills and posted three blocks, while Lee Ann Karr tallied 12 kills for the RedHawks.
Andrea Stone notched seven kills, 13 digs and seven blocks. Jennifer Eaton collected nine kills, 10 digs and four blocks, while Kerry Hardek recorded 57 assists, nine digs and tied her career-best of four service aces. Miami was without defending MAC Player of the Year Alissia Thompson, who fractured the thumb on her left hand.
Amber Merrill led the Bobcats with 24 kills, 10 digs, five blocks and four service aces. Katie Mullen followed close behind with 20 kills, 10 digs and five blocks, while Valarie Waugaman added 10 kills and two blocks.
