Andy Greene

Greene was a key piece of putting the RedHawks on the map from a national perspective. Individually, Greene finished his career with 114 points on 27 goals and 87 assists, earning All-American honors in 2005 and 2006. His goal and point totals rank fourth most among defensemen in school history. He also captured Offensive Defenseman of the Year from the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in his final two seasons while also earning CCHA Defensive Defenseman of the Year honors in 2006.
He helped Miami qualify for the NCAA Tournament in 2004 and 2006, helping the Red & White win a CCHA regular season title in the 2005-06 campaign, a team that became the first Miami sport in school history to achieve a No. 1 ranking in the national polls.
After graduating, Greene went on to have an illustrious NHL career, playing in 1057 games, scoring 52 goals and tallying 212 assists. He played 14 seasons for the New Jersey Devils, serving as the team captain for five of them. He helped the Devils qualify for the playoffs six times, including a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2012. Greene joined the New York Islanders in 2020, where he played three seasons and helped the team to two playoff appearances before retiring following the 2022 season.
