Matt Moore

Matt Moore joined the Miami tennis staff in August 2023 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach. Moore previously served as the men’s and women’s tennis coach at Division III Anderson University. He also has prior experience as an interim head coach and assistant coach at Division I Butler University.

During his time at Anderson, Moore led the Ravens to a 49-26 combined record. In 2022, he led the men’s program to their best record in the program’s history. This accomplishment earned him HCAC Coach of the Year honors. Moore coached 15 All-Conference student-athletes, two newcomers of the year, and 27 ITA scholar athletes.

Prior to joining the Raven’s, Moore spent time with Butler University. His 2019 team had the highest rated recruitment class since joining the Big East. This helped Butler achieve two of the winningest seasons since 2009. His student-athletes earned the APR Public Recognition Award for Academic Performance (2018 and 2019).

Like many coaches, Moore got his start at the high school level. Moore led Zionsville High School (IN) to a combined boy’s and girl’s record of 150-92 record, 10 IHSAA sectional titles, and two IHSAA regional titles. Moore was tabbed the Hoosier Crossroads Conference (HCC) Coach of the Year on the girl's side in 2011 and on the boy's side in 2013. Zionsville's girls team claimed HCC titles in 2011 and 2014. During Moore's tenure as head coach, the Eagles racked up a combined total of 37 all-HCC selections.

Moore spent four years as a player with Hanover College from 2002-06. He was named to the All-Conference Team.

Moore earned a Ph.D. and MSW from Indiana University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hanover in Psychology and Philosophy. In addition to his role within athletics, Moore is an Associate Professor and Chair for the Department of Family Science and Social Work at Miami University.
