Alex Brzozowski joined the staff of the Miami University women’s tennis team as a volunteer assistant coach in February 2015. He brings a strong playing background and Miami family pedigree to the RedHawks staff.
Brzozowski was a four-year varsity letterman at Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie, Pa. and served as team captain in his final two seasons. He was also twice named the team MVP and District 10 player of the year. In 2012, he won the PIAA state doubles championship for Cathedral. In his playing days, he was named a top 100 RPI recruit by the Tennis Recruiting Network. Off the court, he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Gannon Scholars Program.
Three of Brzozowski’s cousins preceded him in attending Miami, graduating in 2006, 2009, and 2012. His family has included rowers and basketball at Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania. His uncle Rick Gotkin has served as the head coach of the Mercyhurst University Lakers for 27 seasons with his son Brandon currently playing on the squad.
Born on Dec. 9, 1993 in Erie, Brzozowski is a Supply Chain and Operations Management major who is expected to graduate in 2016.
