Ries begins his second year with the RedHawks as its safeties coach.
In his first year with the Red and White, both Eli Blakey (first-team) and Silas Walters (second-team) earned All-MAC accolades. Ries was also part of the defensive back staff that led the conference with 14 interceptions.
Ries joins the Miami staff after spending the past two seasons as a defensive graduate assistant with the RedHawks. Ries worked directly with the linebacker group, while also coordinating the offensive scout team. He also assisted in the core four special team's units. Prior to working with the linebackers, Ries worked directly with the defensive line in 2023.

Prior to joining the RedHawks, Reis was a three-year starter at quarterback for Ohio Wesleyan. The two-time team captain also lettered for the OWU basketball team and was a member of the Miami football team in 2022.

Ries completed his special education degree from OWU in 2022 and his master's degree in sports administration from Miami in 2024.
