Miami Softball Hit-a-Thon

Dear Family, Friends and Alumni of Miami Softball,
We are all so excited to get back on the field this year! I will tell you that being the head coach for Miami has been a dream come true. This team is absolutely amazing both on and off the field and we are hoping you want to be a part of the excitement.
On Saturday, Oct. 7 we are going to hold our Fourth Annual Hit-a-Thon at 12 p.m. We welcome you to attend this event live and then join other activities for Family Weekend. If you are not able to attend, we will be streaming live on YouTube from the Miami Softball Field!
How it works: Click HERE to make a pledge per foot
● You sponsor a Softball student-athlete by pledging an amount of money per foot
● We will measure the farthest hit for each student-athlete from their 10 swings
● The longest ball hit will be the distance used to determine the total amount each sponsor will give (Example: $.25 cents/foot for a 200 ft hit = $50)
● Since we have a drop off behind the fence, if the ball is hit over the fence, the distance will be 220ft. For every home run hit, we will add 10ft (Example: 4 homeruns = 250ft, $.25 cents/foot = $62.50.) If someone hits all 10 pitches over the fence, the distance would be 310ft (max amount) and at $.25/ft = $77.50.
This year, we are adding a team aspect. If you don’t want to make a pledge to a single student-athlete, you can pledge to a team which will consist of 4-5 Miami personnel. Those teams are listed on the pledge page as well as below. The amount donated will be calculated by the team’s number of home runs (Ex: 15 HRs = 220 + (10x14) = 360ft). If you are not interested in pledging an amount of money per foot, we would greatly appreciate an outright donation.
This year, the Hit-A-Thon event is to help the team travel to the three-time National Champions Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa in the Spring 2024. Myammia Tribe, which Miami University is named after, is located in Oklahoma which is 90 minutes from Tulsa. Our goal is to provide a chance for the tribe to watch a live Miami sporting event and educate our current team about the Myammia Tribe.
We are working hard to continue bringing MAC Championships, berths to the NCAA Tournament, and beyond regionals. You can help be part of our success by supporting the Hit-A-Thon. Thank you for supporting the Miami Softball Program, and we hope to see you in the spring! Click HERE to make a pledge or Click HERE to make a flat donation.
