Miami Athletics is proud to host the inaugural “Celebrating Miami: Tribe & University” week, highlighting the unique partnership between Miami Athletics and the Myaamia Center on Miami’s campus. This partnership stems directly from the relationship between Miami University and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. To learn more, click HERE.
At all home games this week, Miami student-athletes will be paying tribute to the partnership with different uniform elements. For football and hockey, fans will see a brand new helmet decal celebrating the partnership, while at volleyball and men’s basketball, the teams will be unveiling brand new uniforms with the inclusion of the Myaamia Heritage Logo. Hockey will be playing all season long at Steve “Coach” Cady arena with a specially designed puck with the heritage logo. Stay tuned to MiamiRedHawks.com to see all of the uniform pieces.
Miami University is fortunate to have 32 Myaamia students enrolled on campus this academic year. In preparation for this special week, the Myaamia students have played an integral part in the week's success. They have been meticulously planning activities for each game throughout the fall semester. Fans will have an opportunity to learn about the relationship between the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and Miami University, Myaamia language and culture, and Myaamia students on campus. Fans can also purchase merchandise from the Myaamia Heritage Collection, where a portion of your purchase supports Myaamia students; click HERE to view the entire collection.
