Rick Amos is the chairman of Amos Media Company, a diversified special interest media/publishing company. Established in 1876 as a newspaper publisher, Amos entered the special interest magazine sector in 1960, notably in the hobby collecting market. For the past 50 years Amos has the No. 1 national weekly and monthly financial publications that advise and cover the coin and stamp markets. They have also served the auto market for 40-plus years and the craft market since 2005.
He is also President of Surtreat International, a specialty-chemical business that provides turnkey solutions designed to extend the useful life of reinforced concrete structures; and is the Founder and CEO of Rainy Day LLC, a private equity investment firm.
He began his career in sales and marketing with Xerox Corporation in Southern California. Amos moved into corporate finance, where he directed sales and marketing in the northeastern United States. Prior to his current positions, he became a Partner with Entact Inc., a provider of environmental consulting, design and remediation services, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, operations and human resources. Entact was listed as an Inc. 500 Fasting Growing company’s recipient in 1997.
Amos earned a B.S. in business administration from Miami University, with majors in finance and marketing. Amos also serves on Miami’s Foundation Board of Trustees where he is Chairman of the Development Committee and has served two terms on the Farmer School of Business Advisory Council. He lives with his wife and three children in Lake Forest, Illinois.
