Toledo, Ohio - The Miami women's tennis team had its season come to an end with a 4-1 loss to the No. 3-seed in the Mid-American Conference Tennis Tournament Western Michigan, 4-1, on Friday in Ypsilant, Mich.
In doubles play, the RedHawks were in every match until the very end, but came up short, losing all three matches. It was Miami's tandems of junior Megan Zimpfer and freshman Remy Swain and sophomore Grace Cascarilla and freshman Maura Trauernicht that gave the Broncos the most trouble, losing both of their matches, 8-5.
In singles, senior Ilze Meyer, playing her last match at Miami, who provided the RedHawks with their only win of the match, taking the No. 5 spot with a 6-2, 0-2 victory.
Miami finishes the season 9-13 on the year and 4-5 in MAC play. The MAC Tournament continues Saturday, April 26 with Western Michigan facing off with Eastern Michigan, while Marshall will take on Northern Illinois in the other semifinal.
