The mission of Miami's Human Performance Department is to provide every student-athlete the opportunity to maximize their genetic potential. With safe, proven physiological development methods, student-athletes will train consistently and systematically by design. We provide instruction, correction and applied periodization to preserve and enhance all areas of athletic movement. Our emphasis on intensity and execution allows for student-athletes to get an extra level of defense against injuries and limited athletic performance. Our department educates our athletes on the importance of all aspects of athletic performance including scheduled rest times, mobility, flexibility, and nutrition with the understanding that the only limitations are the limits that they place upon themselves. As a collaborative department, we promote an energized environment based on leadership, character, attitude, and effort with a champion's pride in self and the University's motto of "Love and Honor."Â
