Sabez, Callahan Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Malena Sabez and Jack Callahan are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of September 21.
Female Winner: Malena Sabez
Malena Sabez scored four goals over two games this weekend, helping lead the RedHawks to a 1-0 start in conference play and past No. 15 Liberty in a comeback win. Against Liberty, Sabez recorded a hat trick, scoring twice in the fourth quarter to tie the game and delivering the game-winning goal in overtime. Her stat line over the two games included eight points, 19 shots, 11 shots on goal and four goals. A sophomore from Mendoza, Argentina, she is studying Liberal Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.
Male Winner: Jack Callahan
Jack Callahan (71-63-75=209) tied for eighth on the RedHawk Intercollegiate leaderboard in Pittsburgh last week, firing a second-round 63 en route to his first collegiate top-10 finish. Callahan's performance helped Miami tie for sixth in a 14-team field. A freshman from Alpharetta, Ga., he is studying Marketing in the Farmer School of Business.
