Gregory, Cotton Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Gracie Gregory and Allen Cotton are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of March 2.

Female Winner: Gracie Gregory
Gracie Gregory had a strong showing at the MAC Championships, as the first-year swimmer recorded multiple top finishes to earn Freshman Swimmer of the Year honors. She finished first in the 1650 free (16:39.00), first in the 400 IM (4:16.83) and second in the 500 free (4:49.49). Additionally, she participated in the 800 free relay, helping the RedHawks take third, as she recorded a time of 1:49.29 as the anchor leg. Gregory is from Williamsburg, Virginia, she is studying Sociology in the College of Arts and Science.

Male Winner: Allen Cotton
Allen Cotton was recognized as the Swimmer of the Year for his performances at the MVC Championship. Cotton finished first in the 200 fly (1:44.23), second in the 200 IM (1:44.89) and third in the 100 fly (47.18). Additionally, he competed in the 400 free relay (43.56) and the 800 free relay (1:36.13), helping the RedHawks take third in each. Cotton is from from Portage, Mich., he is studying Leadership/Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computing.
