
Women's Swim and Dive Concludes Day One at MAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio — The Miami University women's swimming and diving team began the 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships today, and after day one, the women's team is currently tied for fifth place among nine teams, scoring 54 points. Other placements were the University of Akron in first with 80 points, Buffalo in second with 64 points, Ohio with 62 points, Ball State in fourth with 60 points, Eastern Michigan in a tie for fifth place with 54 points, UMass in seventh with 48 points, Toledo in eighth with 28 points and Bowling Green in ninth with 22 points.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks women's swimming and diving team will return to Ocasek Natatorium for day two of the MAC Championships, Thursday, Feb. 26. The preliminaries start at 10 a.m. and the finals begin at 6 p.m.
How it Happened:
- The meet kicked off with the 200 medley relay where the women finished eighth. Ella Ziegert, Madison Watschke, Natalie Gilson and Jenna Halliday turned in a combined time of 1:42.06.
- The meet concluded with the 800 freestyle relay where the women finished third. Chrisna Bezuidenhout, Kaylin Herbet, Julia Waechter and Gracie Gregory posted a combined time of 7:16.04.
