KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Miami University women's tennis team opened play at the MAC Fall Individual Championships on Friday at West Hills Athletic Club. The RedHawks went a perfect 4-0 on the day, with both doubles teams and both singles players advancing to the quarterfinals.

Highlights
Clara Owen and Nina Chavez were dominant in doubles, shutting out Buffalo, 8-0, while Maria Luisa Oliveira and Allie Faulkner dropped just one game in an 8-1 win over Eastern Michigan. Oliveira and Faulkner then carried that momentum into singles, with each earning a straight-set victory to advance.
UP NEXT: The RedHawks continue play in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 24. In doubles, Oliveira and Faulkner will face Rondon and Akuginova (Toledo), and Owen and Chavez will take on Yaguchi and Hostáková (Western Michigan). In singles, Faulkner will meet Frida Weijerman (Western Michigan), and Oliveira will face Aleksandra Kachushkina (Buffalo).
