Suder Nets Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND-- Miami senior Peter Suder was named MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today.

Suder hit a dramatic game-winner with just over a second remaining in overtime last Saturday to help the Miami University men's basketball team keep its perfect season alive, capping a 37-point performance in a 105-102 win over Buffalo. For the week, Suder averaged 24.0 points (while shooting 53% from the floor), 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks as the RedHawks went 2-0 —beating Central Michigan and Buffalo— and matched the best start to a season of any MAC men's basketball team in history.

Suder, a native of Carmel, Ind., is studying Sport Management in Miami's College of Education, Health and Society.

The RedHawks hit the court again on Tuesday, Jan. 27 for a nationally-televised showdown against UMass at Millett Hall. Tip time is set for 9 p.m. and the game will air on ESPNU.
