For their performances last week, Kaylin Herbet and Matteo Drobac are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Jan. 12.

Female Winner: Kaylin Herbet
Kaylin Herbet helped the Miami women's swimming and diving team to victory over Oakland and Denison last weekend, producing six first-place finishes in a tri-meet in Michigan. Herbet won the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free while also capturing first place with three Miami relays (200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay).  A junior swimmer from Winter Springs, Fla., she is studying Journalism/Media and Communication and Humanities Engagement (certificate) in the College of Arts and Science.

Male Winner: Matteo Drobac
Matteo Drobac stopped 62 of the 64 shots he faced across two games at Arizona State last weekend, helping Miami earn a series split with the Sun Devils. Drobac's 37 saves in a 2-1 overtime triumph Friday was the most by a Miami goalie in a victory since Feb. 25, 2023 and helped the RedHawks win when scoring two or less goals for the first time since Nov. 26, 2023. Drobac and Miami were a perfect 7-for-7 on the penalty kill this weekend, including a major, against a Sun Devils team that came into the weekend tied for fifth in the nation in power-play goals. A sophomore goaltender from Oakville, Ontario, he is studying Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computing.
