
Tretter, Ipsaro Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Amber Tretter and Evan Ipsaro are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Dec. 8.

Female Winner: Amber Tretter
Amber Tretter averaged 20.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game in a pair of wins over Cincinnati and Western Kentucky. Tretter scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds in an OT win over the Bearcats, which included a fade-away jumper as time expired in regulation to send the game to extra time. She then posted 20 points and five boards in an 80-53 victory against the Lady Toppers. She was 5-of-7 from long range against WKU. A junior foward from Ferdinand, Ind., she is studying Architecture in the College of Creative Arts.

Male Winner: Evan Ipsaro
Evan Ipsaro led the RedHawks to a 2-0 week, as the RedHawks rolled past IU East 109-65 Tuesday night and Maine 93-61 Saturday afternoon to improve to 8-0 for the first time since the 1995-96 season. Ipsaro totaled 38 points (19.0/game) and shot 15-of-21 from the field (71.4%) over the two games. He also totaled four assists (2.0/game), four rebounds (2.0/game) and four steals (2.0/game) on the week. Ipsaro recorded 14 points, four rebounds and one steal against the Red Wolves. He followed this up with an exceptional day against the Black Bears, setting career highs in points (24), field goals (nine) and threes (six). He also added four assists and three steals on the day. A junior guard from Crestview Hills, Ky., he is studying Sales Management in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.
