Miami Athletics Announces Cradle of Coaches-Themed Uniforms

OXFORD, Ohio— Miami Athletics announced today the launch of new special-edition Cradle of Coaches-themed uniforms for several RedHawk teams. The Miami University football team will wear its new Cradle of Coaches uniforms for the first time on Wednesday, Nov. 12 vs. Toledo and unveiled the design to the team and on its social media accounts this afternoon. The custom-designed Cradle of Coaches-inspired uniforms feature distinct branding elements that pay tribute to the storied heritage of Miami Football as well as the Cradle of Coaches.
Miami University's volleyball, men's basketball, hockey and women's basketball teams will also be introducing unique Cradle of Coaches uniform designs over the next few weeks. The volleyball uniforms will debut on Friday, Nov. 14 vs. Eastern Michigan, with the men's basketball uniforms set to be worn for the first time on Thursday, Nov. 20 against Mercyhurst. Miami hockey will take the ice in its Cradle uniforms on Friday, Nov. 21 to face St. Cloud State, and the women's basketball uniforms are scheduled to be worn Dec. 7 in a matchup with Western Kentucky.
The new Miami University Cradle of Coaches uniforms take cues from uniforms of the past. The arched Miami on the football helmet is taken from past Miami athletics uniforms, utilizing the retro slab serif text. The gold accents across the uniform pay homage to the gold standard of coaching exemplified by Miami coaches, past, present, and future across all sports, while the color black is used to symbolize the tradition, strength, history and prestige of Miami's Cradle of Coaches. The Baltimore Ravens gold face mask color is a first for Miami Football.
Fans are encouraged to wear black to the football home game on Nov. 12 for a 'Blackout' theme, and special Cradle of Coaches-themed giveaways will be part of the memorable evening. Tickets are available here.
The volleyball, men's basketball, hockey and women's basketball teams will preview their Cradle jerseys on social media in the coming weeks. The programs' handles are listed below.
