
Scalia, Ipsaro Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Amber Scalia and Evan Ipsaro are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Nov. 17.

Female Winner: Amber Scalia
Amber Scalia averaged 18.0 points, 3.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game, helping the RedHawks to a 2-1 week. She also shot 59.4% from the floor and was 60.0% (9-15) from long range over the three-game stretch. She opened the week with 13 points and four rebounds versus Oakland, had 15 points and seven assists against IU-Southeast and added 26 points and four rebounds in a road win over Bellarmine. A senior guard from Stillwater, Minn., she is studying Kinesiology in the College of Education, Health and Society and Liberal Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.

Male Winner: Evan Ipsaro
Evan Ipsaro led the RedHawks to a 1-0 week, as the RedHawks took down Air Force 76-61 to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2021-22 season. Ipsaro totaled 12 points (62.5% from the field) and went 1-of-2 (50%) from the three-point line. He also matched his career high of seven assists and added an offensive rebound. A junior guard from Crestview Hills, Ky., he is studying Sales Management in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.
