MAC Fall Championships in the Books for Miami Tennis
10/5/2025 4:40:00 PM | Women's Tennis
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Miami women's tennis wrapped up an intense weekend at the MAC Fall Championship, highlighted by a singles comeback win from sophomore Malu Oliveira, a semifinal run in doubles by Oliveira and freshman Allie Faulkner, and a strong closing victory for the freshman duo of Nina Chavez and Evelyn Risner.
Head Coach Ricardo Rosas praised the team's fight and the growth he saw throughout the tournament:
"It was great to see Malu and Allie reach the semifinals — unfortunately, we came up just short. The key points didn't go our way, and we missed the opportunity to compete for a championship on Sunday. Still, I'm proud of their effort. Malu showed great fight in her singles comeback win, and Allie, as a newcomer, battled through some tough matches with impressive resilience. She's a very good tennis player, and it's exciting to see her growth.
"It was also great to see Nina and Evelyn finish strong with a doubles win. This weekend was a valuable experience for our three new players, giving them a real sense of what it's like to compete in our conference. I'm looking forward to seeing this team continue to improve and finish the fall season strong."
