OXFORD, Ohio — As fans get ready to join us for the 2024 Miami Football home opener at noon on Saturday, September 14 against Cincinnati in the 128th Battle for the Victory Bell, here are some new and enhanced features to gameday!
NEW TAILGATE LOCATION
Tailgating set ups that were previously located in the Millett Hall lawns are moving outside the south end of the Yager Stadium complex. Student tailgating also is moving to this location from the Millett Hall West Lot. The proximity to the stadium will allow fans to be closer to the gameday festivities. For as low as $225, fans can rent a tailgate package where Miami Athletics handles all set up and tear down. ADA ENHANCEMENTS
Several enhancements have been made for a better gameday experience for our fans with ADA needs including:
- Lower counter tops at west concession stands, merchandise booth and ticket booths.
- Wider ramps going up into the west stands from the field side.
- More accessible seating with benches and wider paths in the front of the west stands.
- Removal of uneven asphalt and addition of concrete to the southwest field entrance.
SWINE CITY BEER GARDEN
The Swine City Beer Garden is back and is located in the south concourse of the stadium under the scoreboard. This area features Swine City Brewing's most popular craft beers, seltzers and some seasonal options. The Swine City Beer Garden will includes installed 4-TOPPS premium mesh seating and picnic tables along with cornhole, music and other fun gameday activities.
MORE MIAMI MARCHING BAND PERFORMANCES
A vibrant part of the gameday pageantry, fans now have more chances to see the Miami University Marching Band perform on gameday.
- Pregame Concert, on the field hockey field one hour prior to kickoff
- Halftime, featuring three different shows in 2024!
- RedHawk Encore, the postgame on-field show
FAN ASSISTANCE LOCATIONS AROUND YAGER STADIUM
Four tents will be stationed around the outside of Yager Stadium in the south, west and northwest areas. Staff in neon shirts are there to help answer questions and provide assistance to fans getting ready to enter the stadium.
CONCESSIONS
In addition to the permanent concession stands, there will be several points of sale around the perimeter of Yager Stadium, including in-venue food trucks. "Hawkers" also will be going into the stands for additional concession purchasing opportunities. Patrons will not be wristbanded to purchase alcoholic beverages this year.
PREGAME TIMELINE FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14
- 7 a.m. - Parking Lots Open/Tailgating Begins
- 9:30 a.m. - HawkWalk with the Miami Football team
- 10:30 a.m. - Gates open to Yager Stadium - Concessions, Brick & Ivy Gameday store, Cradle of Coaches plaza, Swine City Beer Garden and Swoop's FanFest all open at this time
- 11 a.m. - Miami University Marching Band hosts a pregame show at the Miami Field Hockey Complex (located to the west of Yager Stadium)
- 11:45 a.m. - Miami University Marching Band takes the field
- 12 p.m. - National Anthem by Open Fifth
- 12:03 p.m. - Miami Football takes the field
- 12:07 p.m. - KICKOFF!
