
Christie, Batusich Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Annie Christie and Ty Batusich are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Feb. 26.

Female Winner: Annie Christie
Annie Christie took third place in the 3,000-meter run at the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday with a PR time of 9:27.04. Not only did Christie set a new personal best, but her converted time (9:22.22) will go in the Miami record books as the fastest mark in program history. Christie helped the RedHawks to a top-five team finish at the MAC Indoor Championships for a second consecutive year. Christie is a junior Political Science/Sociology major in the College of Arts and Science from Carmel, Ind.

Male Winner: Ty Batusich
Ty Batusich helped lead the Miami University baseball team to a series victory over Middle Tennessee this past weekend, recording multiple hits each game and putting up six total RBIs during the series. Batusich hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning of Friday's comeback win and scored four runs in a 17-13 triumph on Sunday afternoon. For the week, he went 7-of-20 at the plate with three extra-base hits in four total games. Batusich is a junior Sport Management major in the College of Education, Health & Society from Joliet, Ill.
