RedHawks Start Championship Weekend Off Strong

YPSILANTI, Mich.— The Miami University women's track and field team is in second place with 34.5 points after the first day of competition at the MAC Indoor Championships.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The MAC Championships resume Saturday, Feb. 24 with events beginning at 10 a.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the women's 5000-meter event, Ava Nuttall finished in third place with a time of 16:33.24. Annie Christie also ran in the 5000-meter, and she finished 10th with a time of 16:54.25. In the women's mile event, Jenna Sayle finished in sixth place with a time of 4:58.75. The women's 4000-meter DMR team of Nora Zubillaga, Rachel Smith, Eve Traficanti and Julia Rushing finished in fifth place with a time of 11:54.85.
- On the field for the women, Emily Eterovich finished in second place in the pole vault event with 3.80 meters. Mia Boule also competed in the pole vault event, and she finished in fifth place with 3.55 meters. Grace Hicks was the third RedHawk to finish inside the top 10 in the pole vault event, taking eighth place with 3.40 meters. Ella Rigel finished in third place in the weight throw event with 18.71 meters. Ella Scally finished in third place in the long jump event with 6.05 meters, setting a new PR by a total of .03 meters. Chloe Rickson also competed in the long jump event and she finished ninth with 5.66 meters.
- In the women's 60-meter dash, Camryn Dunn finished in fifth place with a time of 7.55 seconds, qualifying for Saturday's final. Dunn also finished in sixth place in the women's 200-meter with a time of 24.78 seconds to qualify for another final tomorrow. Lucca Agate also ran in the 200-meter, and she came in ninth place with a time of 25.12 seconds. Abby Suszek finished in sixth place in the 400-meter with a time of 56.42 seconds.
- Lisa Froberg finished 10th overall in the pentathlon with 3292 points; she placed in the top 10 in three of five events. Her best event was the 800-meter, where she finished in first place with a time of 2:23.22. Froberg finished seventh in the shot put portion with 10.4 meters. She was eighth in the high jump segment with 1.54 meters.
