
Six RedHawks Named Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind.-- College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its women's soccer Academic All-District honorees today, and six Miami University student-athletes were recognized: Kylee Beinecke, Taylor Hamlett, Jamie Hlebec, Makenna Morrison, Mercedes Schroer and Sydney Thompson.

Beinecke started all 17 matches she played in this season, producing one goal and three assists. She played over 1,000 minutes for the fourth consecutive season. Beinecke is a Finance major in the Farmer School of Business.

Hamlett, Miami's leading scorer, put up a career-high 10 goals in 18 matches en route to First-Team All-MAC honors. She became the first RedHawk since 2014 to score double-digit goals in a season and collected three game-winning goals. Hamlett is a Biology major in the College of Arts and Science. She will advance to the national ballot and have the opportunity to be named an Academic All-America honoree. Those who earn Academic All-America recognition will be announced Dec. 11, 2024.Â

Hlebec started in each of Miami's 19 matches and led the team in minutes played with 1,691. Hlebec scored three goals this year and was named Second-Team All-MAC for her efforts. She is pursuing a Master's in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technology from the College of Creative Arts.
Morrison ranked second on the RedHawks with a career-high six goals, including a goal in each of her final two appearances. She started all 19 matches for the Red and White. Morrison is a Biology/Premedical Studies major in the College of Arts and Science.

Schroer also started all 19 matches for the RedHawks, playing a total of 1,688 minutes to go over 6,500 for her career. She helped the RedHawks' defense post seven clean sheets. Schroer is a Biology/Premedical Studies major in the College of Arts and Science.

Thompson played in all 19 matches for Miami, starting 17. She collected one goal and one assist. Thompson is a Marketing major in the Farmer School of Business.
