
Mike Norton Passes Away

Former Miami University hockey player and assistant coach, Mike Norton, passed away earlier this week.

Norton had 31 goals and 44 assists for a total of 75 points in 97 appearances for the Red and White in three seasons from 1979-1982. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Miami University in 1982, Norton remained in Oxford as a graduate assistant with Miami Hockey. He completed his Master's degree in 1984 in Health and Physical Education. Norton served as a Miami assistant coach for six seasons from 1985-1991.

Norton was part of the Miami Summer Hockey School staff for over 30 years and also worked as Director of Hockey for the Goggin Ice Center from 2015-2021.
