JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Miami's
Carmen Riano finished second in her heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase today at the NCAA East Prelims, qualifying for next month's NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Riano produced a season-best time of 9:59.67, just over a second behind Notre Dame's Katie Thronson and the eighth-fastest time
among the 48 competitors. Riano was a Second-Team All-American in the event a year ago.
Also today,
Annie Christie represented the RedHawks in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 17th in her heat with a time of 16:25.63 to conclude her season.
