RedHawks Swimming & Diving Maintain Third at MAC Championships Day Two

Results (Finals)

Day two of the 2023 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships ended with the Miami University women's swimming and diving team maintaining their third-place position. The RedHawks finished the finals with 210.5 points, landing behind the University of Akron in first (246.5 points) and the University of Buffalo in second (224 points).

How It Happened:

Day two's events kicked off with the 500 freestyle. Miami's Greta Kolbeck earned a personal-best time with her win, finishing with a time of 4:47.44. Also in the championship finals for the RedHawks were Audrey Conley in seventh (4:54.89) and Erin Szczupakiewicz in eighth (4:58.05).
Nicole Maier put in a career-best performance in the 200 IM, breaking MAC, program and pool records and earning an NCAA B cut with her winning time of 1:56.04. In the consolation finals, Ashley Sego placed 12th with a time of 2:01.80.
In the 50 freestyle, Madeline Padavic scored a program top-10 time in both prelims and finals, finishing the latter tied for fourth with a time of 22.77. The consolation finals had Honor Brodie-Foy in 11th (23.05), Jenna Halliday in 13th (23.13) and Julia Waechter in 14th (23.32).
Sydney Rice placed fifth in the 1 meter diving championship finals, scoring 261.36 points and earning NCAA Zone qualifications. In the consolation finals, Lauren Melia placed 13th (240.72 points), also making Zone, and Mia Meinhardt placed 16th (195.30).
Day two closed out with the 200 freestyle relay, where Miami's A relay team of Maier, Padavic, Brodie-Foy and Halliday came in third with a program top-five combined time of 1:30.76. Maier's 22.39 both broke the program record and earned an NCAA B cut qualification.

The RedHawks continue through the MAC Championships with day three on Friday, Feb. 24. Morning preliminaries are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., and evening finals will take place at 6 p.m.
